April 11 - When you think of Ethiopia do you think of (like I used to) a flat and dry desert landscape? Well, think again! We spent the entire day in the Gheralta and Adwa Mountain region. Gheralta literally means "the land that goes up and down". Our driver, Bareket, refers to this area as "spaghetti roads". Despite being in the midst of the dry season which causes the air to be dusty, the scenery from Mekele to Axum was nothing short of spectacular!
