National Museum of Ethiopia

April 3 - Here are a few photos from the museum. The star attraction is "Lucy", the earliest discovered ancestor of modern humans. She's 3.5 million years old and was found in 1974 near Hadar, north-central Ethiopia. Her discovery resulted in an entirely new species of australopithecine called A. aferensis. Although the displays were unremarkable, the subject matter was fascinating.
