The People of Harar

April 5 - We were so impressed by the kindness and hospitality shown to us in Harar. As odd as we obviously appeared to them, they were always respectful and considerate. Naturally, Carrie was a walking Good Will Embassador, always greeting people with a smile and a "Selam".  And her light hair and blue eyes caused many people to do a hard double take. 

Nearly all of the structures in the walled city are stone. I thought the stone below looks like Africa. It's part of a wall at the Catholic Church compound founded by the French more than 100 years ago.
