April 9 - Today was another enjoyable visit with Tigist. She responded well to us and continues to show signs of acceptance. She was very curious about Carrie's glasses, so she tried them on. Stylish! Today we took our first walk outside the orphanage compound. It was a beautiful day in Addis, so we strolled the neighborhood with TG in her backpack. Naturally, we got a few funny looks from the neighbors, but some stopped us to talk. We did our best with limited Amharic, and they did their best with limited English. They we all very kind to us.
